Finished Projects

The kids are in school (well, some of them) and we are kicking it into high gear as we prepare for our upcoming Open House.  It's sad to say good-bye to summer, but we each created great memories with our families and those are the best creations of all.

We have a few finished projects to share.  We hope they inspire you to stop in and see us!

Here's an old factory cart Michelle turned into a tea/cocktail cart (more about this piece on  This piece needed a top, new shelves, and a bit of TLC.  A few coats of wax or linseed oil and it will be ready for your next party!

And this is the potting bench you saw in our last post.  It's now repurposed as a kitchen island (a very large kitchen island!).  Michelle is on the lookout for an old breadboard for the top...wouldn't that be perfect?!

Besides giving this piece a serious scrub down and tune-up, Michelle added vintage hardware for hanging towels, pot and pans, baskets, whatever you need at your fingertips in the kitchen.

OK, back to work now!
Have a great day!

Diamonds in the Rough

It's the end of summer and we are focusing on family...drinking in every last moment of sun on the beach...tackling those "what I want to do most this summer" lists...and just enjoying the little bit of down time we have left.  But in between the beach days, pool days, "I'm bored" days, and the crazy fun days, we have found time to collect a few "diamonds in the rough" to transform for our next show.

What do you see when you look at these "treasures"....?

Up top...started off as a potting bench.  Dry bar?  Buffet?  Kitchen Island?

Below...old factory cart.  Could it be a TV stand?  Tea cart?  Wine rack?

What about this piece?  Yes, it's an old work bench and, yes, it needs a lot of work!  With a little TLC it could become a desk, craft table, island...?

Last, but not least, this old industrial stool.  We think it's begging to be transformed into a table.  Round top?  Maybe square?  Something metal...or barn wood?

It's funny.  When we find "gems" like these, we almost always know immediately where we will take them, what they will become.  Junker's instinct, I guess.

Let us know what you think.  What do you see when you look at these treasures?  What great finds have you transformed this summer?

Enjoy the last precious moments of summer!

If you enjoyed our June and August shows, well, you'll love this next one!  We plan to knock the socks right off those last two!
